I opened a chilled bottle of this delightful wine while at the Rockwall Concert by the Lake several evenings ago and, while I hesitate to label any bottle as “perfect”, this one was certainly an ideal choice for a warm spring evening. It’s bright, fresh and slightly sweet. But not too sweet. I’m a fan of big, full-mouthed reds, so anything sugary is out for me. If you’re looking for something dryer and more interesting than a muscat, but without the bite of a traditional chard, I would recommend you pick up a bottle. And with a price point of around $16, I’ll be enjoying the 2011 Giguère Musqué Chardonnay all summer.
